Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type All Job Types An inpatient behavioral health facility in Columbia, MO is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to manage pharmacy operations and ensure safe, effective medication use. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy functions while supporting the healthcare team in delivering specialized patient care.
Assignment details:
Start Date:
April 29, with 2 days of cross-training Independent work begins May 1 until permanent hire
Duration:
Temporary, until permanent hire is secured
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (30-minute unpaid meal break)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage pharmacy operations within the behavioral health setting Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies Oversee medication dispensing and packaging, including repackaging with Milt/Medi-dose or HCL Utilize Omnicell systems for drug loading and restocking processes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal medication management
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Missouri pharmacist license Experience with Omnicell automation preferred Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems Basic knowledge of automated drug loading and restocking reports Strong leadership and communication skills suitable for interim management This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with inpatient behavioral health experience to assume a leadership role on an interim basis.
