Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type All Job Types An immediate opening is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health inpatient facility in Columbia, MO. This critical role requires a pharmacy professional to oversee pharmacy operations and ensure safe, efficient medication distribution while the organization seeks a permanent hire. The assignment begins April 29 with a two-day cross-training period, transitioning to independent coverage by May 1. Responsibilities include managing daily pharmacy workflow, supervising medication repackaging, loading medications into automated systems, and running restock reports. The pharmacist will serve as the medication safety and compliance lead while supporting the healthcare team in this specialized behavioral health setting. Ideal candidates will hold an active Missouri pharmacist license and possess experience with Omnicell systems. Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL tools is highly preferred, along with general skills in automated drug management. Strong organizational and leadership abilities are essential to thrive in this interim leadership position.
Shift details:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM 30-minute unpaid meal break This opportunity offers valuable experience in pharmacy leadership within a hospital behavioral health environment.
