Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital pharmacy position is available for a licensed pharmacist to work the night shift in Independence, MO. This contract role begins ASAP and lasts approximately 13 weeks. The schedule is 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off, with hours generally from 9 PM to 7 AM, allowing consistent work-life balance and rest days.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Supervise pharmacy technicians on shift Conduct pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy Maintain compliance with hospital and pharmacy regulations
Desired Qualifications:
Active Missouri pharmacist license Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records system Experience with Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Shift Details:
Night shift with one pharmacist and two technicians per shift Scheduled 7 nights on, 7 nights off providing consistent blocks of days off This role offers an excellent opportunity to practice clinical pharmacy in a hospital setting, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative healthcare environment.
