Oversee pharmacy operations to ensure efficient medication dispensing, inventory management, and adherence to all federal and state pharmacy laws. Provide clinical leadership by reviewing patient assessments, medication therapy plans, and supporting complex medical management initiatives. Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as USP 797 for sterile compounding, HIPAA confidentiality policies, and other healthcare regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans, including pediatrics, pain management, acute care, and immunizations. Maintain accurate documentation within Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other EMR systems for seamless patient care coordination. Promote a culture of exceptional customer service by engaging with patients directly, addressing inquiries, and educating on medication use and health management. Requirements Valid pharmacist license with current practicing credentials in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience managing pharmacy teams within community or LTC (Long-Term Care) settings; hospital or acute care experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, drug regulation, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and healthcare compliance standards. Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practices such as immunizations, IV infusion/administration techniques including aseptic methods, and compounding medications following USP 797 guidelines. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR/EHR platforms, inventory management tools, and drug regulation policies. Critical care experience or specialized training in pain management or pediatrics is preferred. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to educate patients on medication administration and health strategies effectively. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in medical management or healthcare compliance are advantageous.
