Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract An evening shift pharmacist opportunity is available at a well-established hospital pharmacy in Nixa, MO. This contract role offers the chance to play a key role in central pharmacy operations during the 2:30 pm to 12:30 am shift, working seven days on followed by seven days off (schedule may vary, with guaranteed weekly hours). The assignment is set for 13 weeks, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize EPIC for medication dispense preparation, verification, and checking including kits, crash carts, prepackaged items, IV medications, creams, and insulin pens Coordinate workflow within the central pharmacy to ensure smooth operations during evening shift Verify accurate restocking of code carts and medication products in accordance with hospital protocols Provide oversight to pharmacy technicians by managing task allocation and workflow direction, without formal supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications & Experience:
Hold an active Missouri Pharmacist Licensure Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; recent graduates are welcome to apply Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred Ability to complete a 2-3 week training period focused on product verification
Team Environment:
You will join a central pharmacy team consisting of 2 pharmacists and 5-6 pharmacy technicians on the evening shift. This role primarily focuses on medication product verification and workflow coordination, allowing other pharmacists to focus on order review within the electronic health record.
