Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a Pharmacist with Missouri licensure to oversee central pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. This contract position involves working evening shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and offers the potential for an extension beyond the initial 13-week assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize EPIC system for medication verification including dispense prep, kits, crash carts, prepack items, and other necessary products Coordinate workflow within the central pharmacy, ensuring efficient operations Verify medication products such as IVs, premade IVs, creams, and insulin pens Confirm accurate restocking of code carts for emergencies Oversee the work flow of pharmacy technicians, providing direction when necessary without formal supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Missouri Pharmacist license is required Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; new graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply Experience or familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records platform is highly preferred Strong organizational and communication skills to manage pharmacy workflow and technician coordination
Shift and Schedule:
Evenings, 2:30 PM - 12:30 AM, following a 7-on/7-off schedule from Thursday to Wednesday (subject to weekly guarantee hours adjustments) Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 hours
Training:
A 2-3 week training period focusing on product verification and pharmacy workflow will be provided, tailored to the pharmacist's capability The central pharmacy team consists of a daytime staff of 5 pharmacists and 10 technicians, and an evening staff including 2 pharmacists and 5-6 technicians. This role is pivotal for smooth pharmacy operations during evening hours, concentrating on product oversight rather than order review.
