Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will support clinical decision-making, medication management, and patient education across diverse healthcare settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence patient outcomes positively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice. Duties Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or contraindications. Manage pharmacy operations, including inventory control, medication compounding (including sterile preparations following USP 797 standards), and ensuring pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Provide clinical pharmacy services such as medication therapy management, pain management, immunizations, and patient counseling to optimize health outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, including pediatrics, acute care, and LTC (Long-Term Care) settings. Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for documentation, medication administration records, and patient data management. Supervise and manage pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain efficient workflow and high-quality patient service. Ensure adherence to confidentiality policies such as HIPAA, maintain clinical confidentiality policies, and uphold pharmacy safety protocols including aseptic techniques for IV infusions and compounding. Requirements Valid licensure as a registered pharmacist in the respective state or jurisdiction. Proven experience practicing as a pharmacist in hospital, community pharmacy, or LTC environments with acute care or hospital experience preferred. Critical care experience is highly desirable; familiarity with pain management and immunization protocols is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, drug regulation, and medical terminology. Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, inventory management tools, and aseptic technique procedures. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as USP 797 are preferred. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, healthcare compliance standards, and practicing within state and federal pharmacy laws is essential. Pay:
$65.00 - $75.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
