Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist skilled in long-term care and retail pharmacy operations. This position offers the potential for contract to hire based on performance during an initial 13-week contract. The role is located near Ayden, NC, approximately two hours east of Raleigh, providing a dynamic work environment in a healthcare setting focused on patient safety and medication management.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00

PM Rotating Saturdays Key Responsibilities:

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication adherence and detect patterns of overuse. Ensure compliance with legal requirements for medication supply. Verify suitability of medicines prescribed to patients. Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision. Counsel patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer related questions. Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs including dosage, storage, and potential interactions. Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients regarding the usage and maintenance of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following regulatory procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory. Identify and communicate drug-related problems to healthcare practitioners. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

Current NC Pharmacist license required. Experience in retail pharmacy is valued; candidates open to training will be considered. Strong communication and supervisory skills. Commitment to patient-focused care and compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
