We are seeking a Packaging Pharmacist to lead our medication compliance packaging services, helping patients (and the caregivers who support them) stay adherent to complex medication regimens. You possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Objectives of this role

• Leads and oversees the pharmacy's compliance packaging operations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness of all packaged medications.
• Serves as the clinical point of contact for the MedSmart compliance packaging program, ensuring packaging workflows meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Works closely with the Owner, Pharmacy Manager, and other pharmacy staff to grow and continuously improve the compliance packaging service line. Daily and monthly responsibilities
• Reviews patient medication regimens and coordinates with prescribers to enroll and maintain patients in the compliance packaging program.
• Oversees the preparation, verification, and quality control of strip-packaged medications, ensuring accuracy of every packaged cycle.
• Manages packaging equipment and workflow, working with technicians to ensure efficient, error-free production.
• Communicates directly with patients and caregivers regarding their packaged medications, adherence, and any regimen changes.
• Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as MedSmart program standards, governing packaged medication dispensing.
• Identifies opportunities to enroll additional patients in the compliance packaging program and supports its growth as a service line.
• Maintains good practices as established by owner and various governing bodies in order to provide consistent, transparent methods of pharmacy practice.
• Builds collaborative relationships with providers, medical staff members, and ancillary staff at all partner organizations.
• Ensures that pharmacy services meet patient care needs and that drug therapy is as safe, effective, and cost-effective as possible. Skills and qualifications
• Active North Carolina pharmacy license required.
• Experience working in a pharmacy, preferably an independent pharmacy.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort with quality-control processes.
• This position involves extensive standing and interaction with patients, caregivers, and pharmacy staff. Schedule includes weekdays and Saturdays as needed. Preferred qualifications
• Experience with compliance/multi-dose packaging systems (e.g., blister card or strip packaging equipment).
• Experience using PioneerRx.
• Experience with medication synchronization programs.
