Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist in North Carolina seeking a rewarding contract-to-hire role. This position offers a 13-week contract with the potential for permanent placement based on performance, providing stability and career growth within a supportive healthcare setting.

Location:

Washington, North Carolina (approximately 2 hours east of Raleigh)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring regulatory compliance. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify overuse. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and pharmacy files. Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer inquiries. Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medicines, including storage and drug interactions. Offer patient-centered services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on medical device usage, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations. Manage pharmaceutical inventory and supplies effectively. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Experience:

Current North Carolina pharmacist license is required. Open to retail pharmacists with a willingness to learn and adapt to the clinical pharmacy environment. Ability to supervise and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
