Job Description
Outpatient Pharmacists:
The Pharmacist ensures accurate and timely dispensing of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and standards, in support of high quality patient care. The Pharmacist interprets, evaluates and verifies medications and dispenses drugs and pharmaceutical supplies to fill written and e-prescriptions. The Pharmacist provides drug information to clinicians and patients. It is the responsibility of the Pharmacist to maintain accurate and complete records on all prescriptions filled and controlled drug substances as required by law. The Pharmacist properly manages pharmaceutical inventories, maintains adequate pharmaceutical supplies, and provides patient counseling and medication therapy monitoring. This position directs and verifies the Pharmacy Technician's work. This position supports organizational goals and values by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, respect and cooperation. Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires the ability to stand approximately 60% of the time and requires occasional reaching. Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degreeLICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist required. ACLS Preferred, CPR Preferred for Hospital Pharmacist.EXPERIENCE
Two years experience preferred. Two years hospital experience preferred for Hospital Pharmacist . Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of work processes. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be assessed and evaluated for this position within 90 days from date of hire.Benefits
