Job Description

Hunterdon Hematology Oncology is a private medical practice that specializes in chemotherapy, infusions, and radiation treatments, as well as innovative treatments like immunotherapy and personalized targeted therapy to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to support our growing oncology/hematology patient population. In this role, you will support medication management, treatment planning, patient education, protocol optimization, and safe infusion practices while contributing to a compassionate oncology culture dedicated to personalized cancer treatment. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Oversee medication administration processes and ensure accurate compounding of medications. Collaborate with the providers to develop effective pain management strategies for patients. Utilize pharmacy software systems for tracking prescriptions, managing patient records, and monitoring medication therapy. Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs. Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Read medication orders and prescriptions, prepare labels, calculate quantities, and assemble other pharmaceutical therapies. Collaborate with other departments to assist in obtaining pre-authorizations in a cross-functional manner. Transmit prescription refills. Assist Pharmacy Manager in maintaining ACHC accreditation compliance.
REQUIREMENTS A
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.

D.) degree from an accredited institution is required. Proven experience in hospital pharmacy management or a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols, compounding medications, and pain management practices. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and technology used in medication management. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and collaboration with healthcare teams. Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment for staff development.
