Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to join our team. As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to our patients. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, drug utilization review, and patient counseling
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Train and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and interns
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice and incorporate evidence-based medicine into daily practice
Skills:
- Strong medical management skills with a focus on pediatrics, IV infusion, medication administration, pain management, ICU care, utilization management, ER care, and acute care
- Extensive knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with healthcare providers and patients
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
