Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations on a full-time basis, including weekends. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a dedication to delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a pharmacy team while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and maintaining high-quality service standards. Duties Manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, as well as pharmaceutical regulatory compliance including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding. Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Oversee medication management processes such as compounding medications, inventory control, and medication administration protocols. Ensure accurate patient assessment and provide clinical pharmacy services including immunizations, medication therapy management, and pain management consultations. Maintain strict adherence to healthcare compliance policies such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies while utilizing pharmacy information systems (PIS), electronic health records (EHR), and EMR systems. Facilitate patient communication by providing clear medication instructions, counseling on drug regulation updates, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism. Lead efforts in managing pharmacy operations effectively during weekends and peak hours to ensure continuous patient care delivery. Skills Extensive experience practicing as a pharmacist with strong clinical pharmacy background in independent/community pharmacies. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems including Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools. Strong understanding of drug regulation laws, HIPAA compliance, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as USP 797. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Basic life support (BLS) certification along with immunization certification is preferred; experience in pediatrics or pain management is advantageous.
