Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity seeks a skilled Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a community retail environment. The role requires strong patient counseling capabilities, medication dispensing accuracy, and supervisory experience supporting pharmacy technicians across two locations. Flexibility to work at a secondary site, including occasional weekend coverage, is essential.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:
9:00 AM to 6:00
PM Wednesday, Friday:
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Weekends off at the primary location (closed six major holidays) Occasional weekend shifts at secondary location
Qualifications and Experience:
Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain before starting Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or obtainable within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtainable within 30 days Ability to cover shifts at secondary retail location including weekends Comfortable working in community grocery store pharmacy Proven supervisory skills with pharmacy technician teams Adaptability across multiple retail settings
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders under established protocols Maintain comprehensive and precise patient medication profiles Supervise and guide pharmacy technician activities daily Participate in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team Conduct medication storage inspections and manage expiration controls Assist in orienting and training new pharmacy staff Follow strict infection control procedures throughout pharmacy operations This contract opportunity offers the chance to contribute your retail pharmacy expertise with a flexible schedule and supportive team environment.
