Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a critical access hospital in Taos, NM. This role involves ensuring safe and effective medication use within a facility serving a maximum of 25 patients. The position offers day shifts with a consistent 3x12-hour schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM for a duration of 13 weeks or longer, providing stability and focus on delivering quality pharmaceutical care.
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently to maintain patient safety. Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to protocols and optimal workflow. Consult with physicians and nurses regarding pharmacotherapy recommendations. Manage pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to tailor therapies to patient needs. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes in an inpatient setting.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Possession of a New Mexico pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a temporary license. At least two years of inpatient pharmacy experience demonstrating clinical competence. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a critical access hospital environment. Knowledge of pharmacokinetics and ability to apply this in clinical decision-making.
Location:
Taos, NM, serving a community hospital with a small inpatient census, allowing for focused patient care and professional engagement.
