Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility located in Grants, NM is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join their pharmacy department on a direct hire basis. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe and effective medication use, overseeing daily pharmacy operations, and supporting clinical drug therapy management. Candidates with leadership potential will have opportunities to assume key responsibilities in the absence of the Pharmacy Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications, including parenteral and IV solutions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards Monitor patient drug therapies for safety, effectiveness, and appropriateness across all age groups Provide drug information and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and healthcare staff Maintain adequate drug inventory and manage pharmacy department records according to policy and legal requirements Supervise pharmacy technicians and assist with formulary management and automated dispensing system updates Participate in emergency response teams, including Rapid Response and Code Blue situations Engage in ongoing professional development, competency evaluations, and uphold compliance with organizational policies and code of conduct
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred Current, active New Mexico pharmacy license 1-2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and medication safety Excellent communication and leadership skills Proficient with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technologies Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements:
