Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A direct hire opportunity is available for a staff pharmacist to support the pharmacy department in a hospital setting in Grants, NM. This role focuses on medication preparation and dispensing, clinical pharmacy services, departmental operations, and emergency response to ensure the delivery of safe, effective patient care. Key responsibilities include preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications with accuracy. The pharmacist will monitor patient drug therapies, provide drug information to healthcare providers, and participate in clinical duties as needed. In managing the pharmacy department's routine operations, this position oversees inventory control, supervises pharmacy technicians, and aids in formulary management. The pharmacist also participates in emergency teams and complies fully with quality and compliance protocols.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred Current active New Mexico pharmacist license verified by the state board 1-2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply Strong pharmacology and therapeutic knowledge, with capacity to address age-specific medication needs Excellent communication skills and clinical decision-making abilities Leadership experience and familiarity with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing machines Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance Physical requirements include the ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods.
