Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A professional Pharmacist role is available in Grants, NM, offering a direct hire opportunity with a salary range of $135,000 to $168,000. This position is responsible for medication dispensing, patient drug therapy monitoring, and providing drug information to healthcare providers while overseeing pharmacy operations. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director, leadership responsibilities may be required.

Direct Hire Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications, including parenteral drugs and IV solutions, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards. Monitor patient drug therapies for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness, considering age-specific criteria. Provide drug information and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and healthcare staff. Manage pharmacy inventory and maintain accurate records as per regulations. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff. Participate in formulary management and Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) adjustments. Engage in emergency response teams, including Rapid Response and Code Blue situations. Complete annual competency evaluations and participate in ongoing professional development. Uphold compliance with organizational policies and ethical standards. Foster effective communication and collaboration within the healthcare team.
Qualifications and Experience:
Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred. Active license to practice pharmacy in New Mexico. 1-2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply. Solid clinical knowledge encompassing pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-related medication considerations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and make clinical decisions. Leadership and supervisory experience desirable. Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technologies.
Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity for medication preparation and typing. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for 4-8 hours.
