Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Staff Pharmacist role is available on a 12-week contract, offering a dynamic work environment within long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy settings. This position operates Monday through Friday with two possible shifts—8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm—and includes rotating Saturday shifts every other week. The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a valid Nevada Pharmacy license.
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage, ensuring legal and appropriate supply levels. Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for each patient. Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files. Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer their questions. Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions. Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for internal and external use, including preparation of sterile solutions. Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories efficiently. Identify and address drug-related problems in collaboration with physicians and healthcare providers.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Active Nevada Pharmacy license. Experience in long-term care pharmacy is strongly preferred. Mail order pharmacy knowledge is a plus. Strong communication and supervisory skills.
