ABOUT US
For nearly 30 years, The Healthy Choice Compounding Pharmacy has been a pioneer in hormone health compounding. Based in Elmsford, NY, we are a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy specializing in USP nonsterile and USP hazardous drug preparations for patients with hormone, thyroid, and autoimmune health needs. Working closely with concierge physicians, OBGYNs, and functional and integrative medicine providers, we deliver customized formulations backed by white-glove, concierge-level patient and provider care.
THE ROLE
The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is the senior clinical and operational leader of our pharmacy. You will own all aspects of pharmacy operations — ensuring full compliance with New York State Board of Pharmacy regulations, USP and standards, and federal requirements governing 503A compounding — while leading compounding quality oversight and day-to-day clinical services for our hormone health patients. This is a hands-on leadership role for a pharmacist who pairs deep compounding expertise with an entrepreneurial, growth-minded approach to running a high-performing, service-driven pharmacy.
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no weekend shifts. Because we serve patients across multiple states, the PIC intermittently monitors urgent voicemails on weekends in accordance with applicable state regulations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Oversee USP nonsterile and USP hazardous drug compounding, ensuring all preparations meet identity, strength, quality, and purity standards. Review and approve Master Formulation Records and Compounding Records. Consult with prescribers — including OBGYNs and concierge, functional, and integrative medicine physicians — to develop and optimize patient-specific formulations such as hormone therapy, multi-hormone creams, and low-dose naltrexone. Provide proactive, concierge-level pharmacist outreach on new prescriptions, new patients, and dose changes, and counsel patients directly alongside the pharmacy team. Maintain full compliance with
USP , USP
, New York State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and applicable federal and state laws. Serve as, or oversee, a qualified Designated Person for USP and and maintain the hazardous drug Assessment of Risk and related SOPs. Report and address prescription errors and quality-related events and keep prescription and compounding records accurate and current. Train pharmacy staff on applicable laws, regulations, USP standards, and SOPs, with training documented at least annually. Supervise, develop, and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, and coordinate daily workflow. Oversee inventory, pharmacy systems, and accurate pricing and billing, maintaining a clean, compliant compounding environment.
WHAT YOU BRING
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or B.S. in Pharmacy (RPh) from an ACPE-accredited institution. Current, unrestricted New York State pharmacist license (required). Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacy Director, or Clinical Director. Demonstrated experience with USP nonsterile and USP hazardous drug compounding; hormone health or HRT compounding experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of 503A compounding regulatory requirements at the state and federal level. Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills, with a grasp of core business fundamentals (P&L, staffing, and forecasting). Excellent communication skills and a commitment to responsive, concierge-level service and patient-centered care. Proficiency with pharmacy management systems; experience with PioneerRx and Simplifi 797 preferred. Must complete annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Fraud/Waste/Abuse (FWA) training and must not appear on the OIG/HHS exclusion list.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary range: $160,000 - $175,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Performance-based annual bonus consideration and merit-based raises. 401(k) with employer match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off.
