Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A full-time Staff Pharmacist position is available for a busy outpatient retail pharmacy primarily located in Cooperstown, New York. This role involves working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The pharmacist will be part of a high-volume operation that fills approximately 1,100 prescriptions weekly and is currently staffed with two pharmacists daily. Occasional coverage at nearby Oneonta and Delhi locations may be required for vacation and sick time relief.

Responsibilities:

Dispense medications accurately and efficiently within a high-volume outpatient retail setting Participate in the Meds to Beds program, delivering medications to hospital patients Provide immunization services and maintain certification as needed Utilize pharmacy management software (PioneerRx) and EMR systems (EPIC) for processing prescriptions and insurance verification Deliver exceptional, patient-focused customer service, ensuring a positive experience Collaborate with a team of pharmacists to maintain consistent pharmacy operations Cover other locations occasionally to support staffing needs

Desired Qualifications:

Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing Experience in retail or outpatient pharmacy settings strongly preferred Familiarity with high-volume dispensing environments (approximately 1,100 scripts weekly) Experience with PioneerRx pharmacy management software and

EPIC EMR

is advantageous Immunization certification or willingness to obtain certification Strong customer service skills with a commitment to patient care Flexibility to provide occasional coverage at the Oneonta and Delhi sites as needed This is a contract full-time opportunity offering a stable schedule in a well-established outpatient pharmacy environment.
