Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a focused, closed-door environment supporting patient care through precise medication management and sterile compounding. The schedule includes Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM over an 11-week contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse. Ensure medication supplies comply with legal regulations. Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients. Maintain confidential and accurate patient records. Provide expert consultation on prescription and OTC medications, covering aspects such as storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions. Compound medications for both internal and external use. Prepare sterile solutions following strict procedural guidelines. Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Identify drug-related problems and effectively communicate with healthcare providers. Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience. Experience with IV compounding preferred. Valid New York Pharmacy License required.
