$60.00- $65.00 per hour About the Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated, customer-focused Pharmacist to join a busy community pharmacy in Hempstead, NY . This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed pharmacist who enjoys providing exceptional patient care while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The pharmacy processes approximately 100 prescriptions per day , offering a steady workflow that allows pharmacists to focus on patient care, medication safety, and operational excellence. Position Summary The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of prescription medications, providing patient counseling, supervising pharmacy support staff, and maintaining compliance with all federal and New York State pharmacy regulations. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications. Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, interactions, and adherence. Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Ensure compliance with all New York State Board of Pharmacy regulations and company policies. Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel. Maintain accurate patient records and prescription documentation. Assist with inventory management, medication ordering, and expiration monitoring. Resolve prescription and insurance-related issues as needed. Administer immunizations, if certified and permitted under New York State regulations. Maintain HIPAA compliance and ensure patient confidentiality. Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong patient relationships. Qualifications Active New York State Pharmacist License in good standing. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy. Community pharmacy experience preferred. Strong knowledge of federal and New York State pharmacy laws and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
