Current Ohio Pharmacist License About the Opportunity A growing outpatient behavioral health and wellness organization with an in-house pharmacy is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join its multidisciplinary healthcare team. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist who is interested in working in an integrated healthcare environment serving individuals receiving mental health and substance use recovery services . The pharmacist will work closely with patients, prescribers, clinical professionals, and administrative staff to promote safe, timely, and effective medication use. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable, compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where patient safety, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, communication, and customer service are essential. Essential Responsibilities The Pharmacist will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to: Review, interpret, and appropriately process medication orders and prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and other medication-related concerns. Monitor medication profiles and identify potential medication therapy problems. Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers. Provide medication therapy management and medication-related support as appropriate. Promote medication adherence and identify barriers to compliance. Communicate with prescribers regarding medication-related questions, concerns, recommendations, and clarification of orders. Collaborate with behavioral health providers and other members of the treatment team. Follow established procedures for medications associated with the Suboxone/buprenorphine and substance use recovery programs. Maintain appropriate controls and documentation for controlled substances in accordance with applicable federal and Ohio requirements. Ensure prescriptions and medications are processed accurately and made available to patients in a timely manner. Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, storage conditions, and appropriate handling of medications. Assist with pharmacy purchasing, inventory management, and medication ordering as assigned. Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation. Identify and report medication errors, discrepancies, adverse drug events, and other medication-safety concerns in accordance with established procedures. Respond appropriately to urgent medication-related situations and telephone communications. Participate in crisis management and appropriately escalate urgent clinical or medication-related concerns. Handle telephone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally. Retrieve messages from the answering system and return patient calls in a timely manner. Monitor and respond to pharmacy-related emails on a daily basis. Respond to patient questions and assist patients in resolving medication-related concerns. Work the point-of-sale system and process cash, credit, insurance, and other transactions as required. Assist with insurance-related pharmacy issues, prior authorization processes, refill requests, and prescription-related problems as appropriate. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy requirements. Follow federal and Ohio pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy requirements, controlled-substance regulations, and organizational policies and procedures. Participate in quality-improvement, medication-safety, compliance, and pharmacy-related initiatives. Maintain required professional licenses, registrations, certifications, and continuing education. Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned. Substance Use Recovery & Buprenorphine Responsibilities Because the pharmacy operates within an integrated behavioral health environment, the pharmacist may have significant interaction with patients receiving treatment for substance use disorders.

Responsibilities may include:

Supporting established medication-assisted treatment/recovery protocols. Dispensing and managing buprenorphine-containing medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, prescriptions, and organizational procedures. Reviewing relevant medication and prescription information before dispensing. Communicating with prescribers regarding medication concerns, adherence issues, drug interactions, or other clinical considerations. Providing patient education regarding proper medication use, storage, adherence, and potential risks. Maintaining accurate controlled-substance records and documentation. Identifying and appropriately escalating suspected medication discrepancies, diversion concerns, or other unusual circumstances in accordance with organizational procedures and applicable law. Maintaining a nonjudgmental, respectful, and patient-centered approach when serving individuals receiving substance use treatment. Patient Service & Communication Expectations The pharmacist will frequently interact with individuals who may be experiencing significant emotional, behavioral, medical, or social stressors. The successful candidate must be able to provide excellent service while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Represent the pharmacy and organization positively in every interaction. Required Qualifications Current, unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist License in good standing. PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) from an accredited pharmacy program. Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy experience preferred. Retail/community pharmacy experience preferred. Experience with outpatient pharmacy operations preferred. Experience with controlled substances and/or substance use treatment is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, contraindications, and medication safety. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable pharmacy regulations. Ability to work effectively with patients, prescribers, nurses, therapists, case managers, pharmacy personnel, and administrative staff. Ability to learn and manage a large amount of information accurately. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with: Community or retail pharmacy experience. Outpatient behavioral health pharmacy experience. Experience with substance use disorder treatment. Experience with buprenorphine/Suboxone programs. Experience with controlled-substance dispensing and inventory procedures. Experience with electronic pharmacy or healthcare information systems. Experience with medication therapy management. Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and pharmacy benefit processes. The pharmacist should be able to: Stand and walk for portions of the workday. Sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Read medication labels, prescriptions, electronic records, and other written materials. Communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Maintain accuracy while working in a potentially high-volume environment. Safely handle medications and pharmacy-related materials in accordance with established procedures.
