In this vital role, you will oversee medication dispensing, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help optimize medication management processes across diverse clinical settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your extensive pharmacy knowledge in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment dedicated to improving health outcomes. Duties Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all legal and safety regulations, including DEA and HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with healthcare providers to review prescriptions, provide medication counseling, and ensure appropriate therapy plans. Manage medication inventories using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to maintain optimal stock levels and documentation accuracy. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and clinical evaluations for complex cases such as critical care or geriatrics. Educate patients on medication administration techniques such as injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, or tube feeding procedures while emphasizing safety protocols. Participate in clinical research projects related to pharmacology or treatment innovations like botulinum toxin therapy or esthetic laser treatments. Assist in training healthcare staff on new pharmacy protocols, sterile processing techniques, or specialized treatments like spinal taps or sonography procedures. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) with current certification from the Board of Pharmacy. Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of pharmacology principles including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and drug enforcement regulations. Experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, ICU/critical care units, emergency rooms, or nursing homes—particularly Level I & II trauma centers—preferred. Familiarity with specialized treatments including botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, or pain management procedures. Ability to perform detailed medical documentation and medical records management accurately and efficiently. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on complex medication regimens and health coaching strategies. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ophthalmology procedures), or neonatal care (neonatal ventilator management).
