Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire A dynamic opportunity exists for a licensed pharmacist to contribute expertise in utilization management while supporting Part B drug prior authorization and appeals review. This contract-to-hire role operates remotely, offering the chance to integrate clinical judgment with Medicare policy application in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include reviewing Part B drug and biologic prior authorization requests and appeals, ensuring compliance with clinical policies and Medicare requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal clinical and non-clinical teams to clarify Part B drug workflows, identify opportunities to enhance review quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency, and maintain consistent productivity despite evolving priorities.
Key qualifications for this role:
PharmD degree with an active pharmacist license in at least one state Minimum of 2 years' experience in utilization management, managed care residency, or relevant specialty pharmacy Proven ability to critically assess complex Part B drug requests independently Hands-on experience reviewing Part B drug prior authorizations and appeals
Schedule and Work Conditions:
Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST Mandatory weekend and holiday rotation from January 1, 2027, through March 31, 2027, with time off only permitted for emergencies Contract duration from October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027 (6 months) This role is ideal for pharmacists seeking to apply clinical acumen within a highly regulated, utilization management setting, with an opportunity for long-term career growth following the initial contract period.
