Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A remote Pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract-to-permanent position supporting Part B drug and biologic prior authorization review. This role is open to licensed Pharmacists from any state, offering flexibility to work from home while engaging in critical utilization management and Medicare compliance tasks.
Location:
Remote (open to candidates with active pharmacist licensure in any state)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM EST Mandatory weekend and holiday rotation from 01/01/2027 to 03/31/2027 No days off except for emergencies during the mandatory rotation period
Responsibilities:
Review and process Part B drug and biologic prior authorization requests and appeals Apply clinical policies, utilization management criteria, and Medicare requirements for authorization decisions Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams regarding Part B drug policies and workflows Identify and implement improvements to review quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency Manage a fast-paced and evolving work environment while maintaining consistent productivity and quality
Desired Qualifications:
PharmD degree with an active pharmacist license in at least one state Minimum 2 years of experience in utilization management, managed care residency, or specialty pharmacy Proven clinical judgment and the ability to evaluate complex Part B drug requests independently Experience with Part B drug prior authorization and appeals review strongly preferred Prior utilization management and prior authorization background highly valued

Equipment necessary for the role will be provided Contract duration: 6 months, with potential for permanent hire following the contract period This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking a challenging and dynamic utilization management role within Medicare Part B services. to engage in meaningful clinical decision-making within a remote, supportive work environment. Compensation for this position ranges from $52.00 to $72.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
