Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire This pharmacist opportunity offers a 13-week contract-to-hire position focused on Medication Therapy Management with both onsite and remote work options. Candidates must hold a current Louisiana pharmacist license along with licensure in at least five additional states, emphasizing Louisiana, DC, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. This role is ideal for professionals seeking to leverage multi-state credentials in a dynamic pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician instructions, adhering to established policies and protocols. Accurately interpret verbal and written prescriptions and update computerized patient medication profiles. Maintain comprehensive and precise pharmacy patient medication records. Dispense pharmaceuticals and controlled substances while complying with legal requirements. Monitor drug therapy regimens to identify contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing. Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately. Provide clinical consultations and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed. Document all clinical activities and interventions thoroughly. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication reviews, data collection, and inspections. Supervise pharmacy support personnel, verify technician activities, and contribute to personnel performance appraisals. Organize and prioritize pharmacy services to ensure timely and independent work completion. Conduct medication storage inspections and manage outdated drug removal. Maintain professional communication with patients and healthcare providers.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current pharmacist license in Louisiana plus licensure in at least five additional states (emphasis on specified states). Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience. Commitment to obtaining a minimum of 10 state licenses (excluding Louisiana) within 18 months in the role. Strong organizational and communication skills.
