Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Staff Pharmacist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe, effective use of medications. Duties Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety standards. Provide expert medication counseling to patients, explaining proper usage, potential side effects, and answering questions to promote optimal health outcomes. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medication reviews and health status evaluations, to tailor pharmaceutical care plans. Manage pharmacy inventory meticulously, including ordering, stock rotation, and compounding medications when necessary. Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, medication histories, and clinical notes precisely. Administer immunizations and perform IV infusions following aseptic techniques and established protocols. Collaborate with medical teams on medication management strategies for acute care, pain management, pediatrics, critical care, and long-term care (LTC) pharmacy settings. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times. Assist pharmacy technicians in daily operations while providing mentorship to foster team development. Support medical management initiatives by participating in patient care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings. Experience Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable jurisdiction. Prior experience working in hospital or acute care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience across diverse specialties such as pediatrics, critical care, or LTC pharmacy. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and medication administration. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems (EMR/EHR), inventory management tools, and compounding medications using aseptic techniques. Experience with immunizations administration and IV insertion techniques is desirable. Background in pain management protocols and medical management strategies enhances patient care delivery. Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical training strongly preferred; additional experience in hospital or ICU settings is advantageous.
