503A Compounding Pharmacy We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide hands-on leadership for a growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Knoxville, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist who enjoys leading teams, managing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and taking ownership of patient safety, quality, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, workflow, staffing, scheduling, and productivity Lead, coach, train, and support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff Ensure prescription processing, compounding, dispensing, and verification are completed safely and accurately Maintain compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, Tennessee Board of Pharmacy requirements, applicable USP standards, and established SOPs Oversee 503A compounding operations , including medication preparation, labeling, storage, and dispensing processes Promote a strong culture of medication safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, accountability, and teamwork Serve as the primary pharmacy contact for Board of Pharmacy inspections, regulatory audits, accreditation activities, and inquiries Review medication errors, incidents, complaints, and quality concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions as appropriate Oversee medication and supply inventory, purchasing, storage, organization, and expiration management Maintain pharmacy documentation, policies, licenses, registrations, staff competencies, and regulatory records Partner closely with the Director of Pharmacy on operational improvements, quality initiatives, and strategic priorities Qualifications Active Tennessee Pharmacist license in good standing Ability to serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience; 3-5+ years preferred Pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance requirements, medication safety, and quality standards Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Highly Preferred Previous Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager experience 503A compounding pharmacy experience Previous compounding pharmacy experience Experience with State Board of Pharmacy inspections and/or regulatory audits Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining SOPs and quality assurance programs Proven experience leading, training, and developing pharmacy teams Compensation & Benefits $160,000-$180,000 annual salary Healthcare benefits 401(k) Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule Direct hire opportunity Leadership role within a growing pharmacy operation This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a pharmacist ready to take ownership of a growing pharmacy operation while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and team performance .
