Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our family owned pharmacy. As a Long Term Care Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Your expertise in medical management, pharmacy, and patient care will be vital in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Duties:
  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Review and interpret medication orders for appropriateness and potential drug interactions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop patient-specific medication plans
  • Provide counseling to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
  • Monitor patients' medication therapy for effectiveness and safety
  • Prepare sterile IV infusions and other specialized medications as needed
  • Participate in emergency room consultations for medication-related issues
  • Assist with pain management strategies for acute and chronic conditions
  • Conduct utilization reviews to ensure appropriate medication utilization and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed and patient interactions
  • Adhere to aseptic technique when compounding medications
Requirements:
  • Valid Pharmacist license in [state]
  • Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Be available to fill in when needed
  • Compounding Experience (Not required but is a plus)
  • Monday
