CHRISTUS
Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services. The Pavilion and North Tower house a state-of-the-art emergency department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and surgical suites A teaching facility in affiliation with the
Texas A&M University System Health and Science Center College of Medicine Accredited Chest Pain Center Accredited Joint Commission Stroke Team Summary:
A 52-week post-graduate educational training program under the direction of an advanced pharmacy preceptor(s).

Competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Develops knowledge, skills, and experience to become an advanced pharmacy clinician who manages and improves the medication use process ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies for patients. Develops and expands upon the knowledge and skills required to provide evidence based, patient-centered medication therapy management within interdisciplinary teams. Develops leadership skill to effect change within the pharmacy clinical and operation sections of acute care hospitals. Expands upon and improves the pharmacotherapeutic knowledge and communication skills required to provide medication, therapeutics, and practice related education. Develops the knowledge and skills to utilize medical informatics by utilizing the informatics tool available at
CHRISTUS.
Assumes roles and responsibilities also listed in Clinical Pharmacist I job description.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills Graduate from an ACPE accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program required Experience No experience required Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Must be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure within 90 days from first day of employment unless a formal program extension is approved for extenuating circumstances, as guided per
ASHP BLS
required ACLS or PALS required (if pediatric practice) In accordance with the
CHRISTUS
Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
