Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and expertise. Duties Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure smooth daily operations Oversee medication dispensing, compounding medications, and IV infusion procedures while adhering to USP 797 standards for aseptic technique Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and pharmacy information systems (PIS) Conduct patient assessments, medication reviews, and clinical consultations to optimize therapeutic outcomes across diverse settings including LTC (Long-Term Care), hospital, community, and pediatric care Manage inventory control, medication storage, and procurement processes to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste Implement pharmaceutical regulatory compliance protocols and ensure staff adherence to clinical confidentiality policies Facilitate immunization programs, patient education initiatives, and medication administration services in accordance with healthcare best practices Maintain accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems and EMR systems for seamless patient care coordination Stay current on drug regulation updates, healthcare compliance standards, and advances in clinical pharmacy practices Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws Prior experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist with demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing pharmacy teams Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with acute care settings such as hospitals or emergency departments is highly advantageous Strong background in clinical pharmacy experience including pain management, pediatrics, immunizations, and medical management Proficiency with pharmacy software applications and pharmacy information systems (PIS) such as EMR/EHR platforms Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, and drug regulation policies Hands-on experience with compounding medications following USP 797 guidelines and aseptic techniques Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence and patient care advocacy Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as immunizations or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) are a plus Demonstrated ability to manage inventory efficiently while ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards Experience working within healthcare compliance frameworks including HIPAA confidentiality policies Join us to lead a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding pharmaceutical care!
