Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Receive and process prescription orders from customers, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring patient confidentiality
- Enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy computer systems
- Coordinate with insurance companies for prior authorizations and claims processing
- Prepare, label, and package medications for distribution
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment according to pharmacy regulations
- Support pharmacists with administrative tasks and workflow improvements
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in a retail or healthcare pharmacy setting is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy software systems
