Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a licensed pharmacist with a passion for pediatric care and a background in inpatient pharmacy services. You will be integral to supporting medication management at a children's hospital, utilizing your expertise with pharmacy information systems including EPIC and Pyxis.
Location:
Slaton, TX Assignment Details:
Contract role with an immediate start Six-month duration with potential extension Night shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM Opportunity to transition to day shift later in the assignment (to cover FMLA through January 13, 2027)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accurate dispensing and distribution of medications during night shifts Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for pediatric inpatients Manage medication inventory and control using Pyxis systems Utilize EPIC for clinical documentation, order verification, and medication reconciliation
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Active Texas pharmacist license Experience with inpatient pharmacy practice strongly preferred Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems Prior pediatric pharmacy experience is highly desirable Ability to work independently throughout night shift rotations with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism This role offers the chance to work in a specialized pediatric setting with a supportive schedule that allows for extended time off between shifts.
