Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity seeks an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Staff Pharmacist for a contract assignment in Tomball, TX, supporting a psychiatric specialty facility. The role involves overseeing pharmacy operations and providing high-quality medication management in a 128-bed hospital with an average daily census of 103 patients.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulations Staff and coordinate pharmacy personnel, including 2 technicians and PRN pharmacists Perform medication order entry using HCS system (training provided) Provide clinical pharmacy services tailored to psychiatric patient needs Support weekend and on-call coverage when per diem staff are unavailable Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Texas Pharmacist license is required Prior experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager preferred Familiarity with psychiatric pharmacy practices is a plus Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional weekend and on-call duties

Tomball, TX (Houston area)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Potential weekend coverage: 8:00 AM-2:30 PM (if per diem unavailable) On-call coverage as needed for staffing gaps This contract is anticipated to last 8 to 12 weeks, with an immediate start preferred. Training on the facility's order entry system (HCS) will be provided. Local candidates are highly encouraged to apply due to proximity preference.
