Job Description

Job Duties Dispenses prescription medications, measures and counts medication into appropriate containers. Labels prescriptions and applies appropriate warning stickers. Verifies prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone. Selects substitutions when necessary. Obtains patient medical history and maintains confidential computer records. Checks prescriptions and over the counter medications for drug interactions. Counsels customers on proper medication usage. Provides prompt and courteous customer service. Answers customer questions about over-the-counter medication and product location. Addresses other customer concerns including insurance issues. Preserves customer confidentiality. Assists in perpetual inventory of Schedule II to V controlled substances. Participates in twice yearly inventory of Department 92 and 93. Meets proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards. Follows safety and security procedures. Assists with counter duties as necessary. Executes proper Central Fill and DUR functions. Delivers immunizations. Approves and submits orders for equipment and supplies. Orders products using a computer system. Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment. May be required to act as Pharmacist-in-Charge during part of shift, when Pharmacy Manager is not present: Acts as point of contact for regulatory, legal, third party insurance companies, and audit situations; monitors pharmacy to ensure complete legal compliance; supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants. Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery. Assists with department duties as necessary. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
Pay:
$75.00 - $80.00 per hour
