Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity for an inpatient pharmacist is available in Chesapeake, VA, starting on September 28 for a 13-week duration. This role requires a VA pharmacy license and a strong background in hospital inpatient pharmacy operations.
Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts: 0630-1500, 0730-1600, 0900-1730, 1000-1830 Evening shifts: 1300-2130, 1430-2300 Overnight shifts: 1930-0730, 2030-0730
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders and enter orders accurately. Manage intravenous (IV) medication administration. Oversee pain-controlled analgesia and antibiotic therapies. Identify and handle drug interactions. Utilize EPIC for medication-related documentation and charting. Preferred experience includes chemotherapy medication handling, anticoagulant management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing adjustments.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid VA pharmacy license. Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience required. EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency is mandatory. IV medication experience and knowledge of pain management protocols are essential. Travel pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
