Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Northern Virginia is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to support their inpatient pharmacy team at a 400-bed medical center. This contract opportunity, starting ASAP, offers the possibility to transition to a permanent role after the initial 13-week assignment.
Location:
Northern Virginia, near
Fredericksburg and Locust Grove, VA Schedule:
Primarily 8-hour second shifts on the contract side
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations Consult with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff regarding medication therapy Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to optimize patient care Utilize IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to manage pharmacy workflows
Desired Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist with inpatient pharmacy experience Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations in a 400+ bed facility setting Proficient in EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams Ability to maintain high standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance This contract role offers valuable experience in a high-capacity medical center with a supportive team environment.
