Contract Responsibilities:

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage Ensure all medications supplied are within legal requirements and suitable for patients Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions Educate patients on medical device handling (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters) Offer services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions following proper protocols Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals Identify and communicate drug-related problems to appropriate healthcare providers

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required Current licensure with the Pennsylvania State Pharmacy Board Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred Strong knowledge of medication management, compounding, and patient counseling Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail This contract position offers a chance to apply your expertise in a dynamic environment with overnight hours.
