Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge to provide leadership and pharmacy services at a micro-hospital setting in Menomonee Falls, WI. This contract position offers the chance to manage daily pharmacy operations in a 7-bed emergency department and an 8-bed inpatient unit.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy functions independently Perform daily staff pharmacist duties including order verification and medication dispensing Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance and address any diversion concerns Manage restocking and inventory control utilizing Omnicell automation Participate in on-call rotation to support pharmacy operations outside regular hours Collaborate with remote Pharmacy Director and local PIC through provided training and ongoing communication

Qualifications:

Current Wisconsin pharmacist licensure is mandatory Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice Strong knowledge of Epic order entry system and automated dispensing technologies Ability to work independently in a single-pharmacist environment Commitment to maintaining compliance and patient safety in challenging settings

Schedule:

Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week No weekend hours required This role requires immediate availability for coverage extending approximately 2 to 3 months. Candidates should be prepared to assume full PIC responsibilities in a small, specialized hospital environment with a history of controlled substance diversion issues.
