Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy professional is needed for a contract position in Waukesha, WI, starting August 17th for a 9-week duration. This role operates on the 2nd shift, from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with responsibilities including rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage. Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements. Verify appropriateness of prescribed medications for patients. Maintain confidential, accurate patient records and manage pharmacy files diligently. Provide patient consultations regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any medication-related questions. Offer guidance on prescription and non-prescription medications concerning storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver specialized services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for external and internal use, preparing sterile solutions in adherence to established procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify drug-related problems in patients and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license (in-hand) is required. Willingness to accept pharmacists from retail backgrounds; training will be provided as needed.
