Job Description

Staff Pharmacist We are seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist for a 26-week contract assignment . This position will support pharmacy operations by processing and verifying medication orders, ensuring medication safety, and collaborating closely with healthcare and pharmacy teams. Schedule 40 hours per week Majority of shifts: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Potential option for an 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM shift, if desired or operationally needed May participate in weekend, early, and late shift rotations as needed Responsibilities The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for: Processing and verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently. Performing final product verification to ensure medication accuracy and patient safety. Communicating and collaborating with Health Services Unit (HSU) and pharmacy staff regarding medication orders and patient care needs. Performing drug utilization reviews and identifying potential medication-related concerns. Reviewing prescriptions for appropriate dosing, drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and other medication safety considerations. Supporting safe and effective medication distribution and pharmacy operations. Participating in weekend, early, and late shift rotations as required. Performing site visits when necessary. Assisting with clinical pharmacy programs, which may include warfarin management and IV therapy management . Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Performing other pharmacy-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the applicable state. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program. Strong knowledge of medication safety, drug interactions, dosing, and pharmacy best practices. Experience processing and verifying medication orders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. Flexibility to participate in varying shifts, weekend rotations, site visits, and clinical pharmacy programs as needed.
