Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately while adhering to pharmaceutical regulations and safety standards. Prepare and compound sterile IV infusions and medications using aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures. Enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems with precision, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting medication administration processes. Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with healthcare privacy regulations and organizational policies. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, ordering pharmaceuticals, and ensuring proper storage conditions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals on medication therapy management, including pharmacological medical terminology and clinical documentation. Requirements Proven pharmacy technician experience in hospital, community, or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings, with LTC pharmacy experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Certification or training in Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly desirable. Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and data entry procedures for accurate record keeping. Strong understanding of medical terminology, state healthcare regulations, and drug laws governing pharmacy practice. Experience in IV compounding, sterile IV admixture procedures, and aseptic technique is essential. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
