- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
- Obtains and maintains appropriate knowledge and understanding of the department Policies and Procedures as well as Joint Commission medication management standards.
- Performs essential functions related to inventory control such as rotating stock, replenishing stock, performing medication audits and monitoring for outdates.
- Performs activities as directed in accordance with federal, state and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology such as Meditech and Omnicell. May need to troubleshoot issues with equipment and discrepancies.
- Responsible for entering medication charges in system accurately.
- Performs essential functions related to maintaining IV room certification such as cleaning of IV room and surrounding areas.
