Job Description To lead, direct and manage the activities and programs of the Department of Pharmacy. To ensure optimal clinical service. To manage human resource activities and financial targets. To act as a liaison with medical center committees and schools of pharmacy as appropriate. To promote and support research. Acute Care Manager is a licensed pharmacist with the knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy practice and oversees all aspects of our clinical pharmacy team. This position will provide daily oversight and management of key clinical activities for UAB Hospital, specifically emergency, perioperative, and women and infants. Provide leadership and oversight for clinical pharmacy programs and services. Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based medication use initiatives. Lead and mentor clinical pharmacists, residents, and pharmacy learners. Partner with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Advance medication safety and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor clinical performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Promote professional development, engagement, and accountability within the clinical pharmacy team. Serve as a clinical resource and leader during complex patient care situations and organizational initiatives. Maintains required documentation for compliance with internal policies, procedures, SOPs, as well as state and federal rules and regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
