Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Manager, where you will lead and oversee all pharmacy operations, ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, and team performance. As a pivotal member of our healthcare community, you will manage pharmacy staff, optimize medication management processes, and uphold the highest standards of safety and service. Responsibilities Lead and manage pharmacy operations, including staffing, workflow, and inventory control to ensure efficient service delivery. Supervise pharmacy technicians and staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team. Oversee medication dispensing processes, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws. Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care initiatives, including medication therapy management, immunizations, and clinical assessments. Maintain strict adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards such as USP 797 for sterile compounding and HIPAA confidentiality policies. Manage pharmacy information systems (PIS), electronic health records (EHR), and other software to streamline operations and enhance patient service. Ensure inventory management accuracy for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies while minimizing waste and controlling costs. Promote a culture of excellent customer service by engaging with patients directly, addressing concerns, and providing medication education. Skills Proven experience in pharmacy management within diverse settings such as hospital, LTC (long-term care), community pharmacy or clinical environments. Critical care experience along with pediatrics, pain management, or acute care experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws at both state and federal levels; familiarity with drug regulation policies is essential. Expertise in compounding medications using aseptic techniques; knowledge of USP 797 standards is preferred. Proficiency with pharmacy software systems including Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR platforms. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively about medication use, health conditions, and treatment plans. Ability to manage pharmacy teams efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical practice and operational excellence. Basic life support (BLS) certification; familiarity with physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare compliance requirements.
