Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Contract An opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a specialized animal health and compounding pharmacy environment is available. This full-time, onsite role in Bakersfield, CA, offers a chance to guide a team of pharmacists dedicated to producing high-quality compounded medications while ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacists to meet productivity and quality goals Oversee daily compounding workflows and pharmacy operations Ensure adherence to USP , , and compounding standards Maintain accurate training records and facilitate ongoing pharmacist education Support drug selection for both dispensing and compounded preparations Identify process enhancements and collaborate with pharmacy leadership and other departments Uphold confidentiality and comply with all relevant policies and regulations
Qualifications:
Current California pharmacist license in good standing BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution 2+ years of leadership experience managing pharmacy teams within a lab setting 2-5 years of hands-on compounding experience Strong knowledge of USP compounding standards, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM This role offers a rewarding base salary ranging from $160,000 to $185,000 plus performance-based bonuses, with eligibility for benefits. It is ideal for a dedicated pharmacy professional who excels at holding team members accountable, supporting training, and advancing operational efficiency during a period of growth. This is a contract position.
