Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An Interim Director of Pharmacy opportunity is available at a 100-bed community hospital near Washington Navy Yard, DC. This position involves leadership and management within a busy pharmacy department serving an average daily census of 20 to 40 patients. The role is Monday through Friday, day shifts, providing a structured workweek.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day pharmacy department operations, ensuring smooth workflow. Supervise pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative, efficient team environment. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements. Attend interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate patient care and pharmacy services. Manage medication distribution systems, including experience with Meditech and Omnicell platforms.
Qualifications:
Active Virginia Pharmacist license is required. Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy management experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive operational excellence. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards in healthcare. Proficiency in pharmacy IT systems, specifically Meditech and Omnicell.
